TRENTON ‑ Superintendent of Schools for Hamilton Township Neil Bencivengo and David McWilliam, Principal of Hamilton High School West presided at a recent groundbreaking ceremony to dedicate a 21,600 square‑foot, one‑story addition to the school. Contractor Scozzari Builders, Inc., Trenton, will perform extensive alterations to the existing building, including roof replacement and heating, ventilation and air conditioning upgrades.

The new one‑story addition will contain eight new science labs, four new prep rooms, a science department office, rest rooms, a mechanical room and a new gym lobby. Alterations to the existing building will transform six existing labs and three prep rooms into general classrooms and department offices, and a drafting lab will be converted into a technology lab and modeling room. Extensive locker repairs and a parking lot addition are also part of the renovation project.

"School construction demands a high set of standards," said Nick Scozzari, Vice President of Scozzari Builders. "Creating a safe environment for the children is always our first priority. Having the building ready for occupancy when it is needed comes next. We have the experience to assure both without compromise."

Work at the Hamilton High School West site has begun. Scozzari builders expects construction to be completed well before the Fall 2004 school year begins.
